Admissions Process


Welcome to the branch school!

Thank you for your interest in The Branch School.  We are committed to promoting a culture which focuses on developing the whole child.  This begins with a clearly communicated mission, an environment of shared values about teaching and learning, and a plan for continuous improvement in conditions that support student learning.  Our mission is focused on our students and promotes discovery, creativity, application of skills and new ideas, as well as character development.   

We encourage you to attend one of our Open House events or schedule a private tour to get additional information regarding our program.  We look forward to meeting you.    

Application checklist

In order to complete the application process, please complete the checklist items listed below, including submission of all supplemental forms. All supplemental information must be submitted to the school office by fax, mail or in person.  Applications are accepted throughout the school year, with admissions subject to availability. A student may be waitlisted.

Please note, The Branch School admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school.  The Branch School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs.

  • Submit completed Online Application and application fee of $125.
  • Teacher Recommendation Forms
  • Submit the following:
    • Recent Report Card
    • Past School Records
    • Standardized Test Scores
    • Birth Certificate
  • Attend an Open House (see Admissions Key Dates) or you may schedule a tour
  • Complete an academic assessment and/or class visit 
    • 3 years of age to 8th grade on-site assessment $100.00
    • 5th-8th grade students schedule to take the ISEE test off campus – www.iseetest.org   The Branch School CODE number is 570513 when signing up for the ISEE test. 
    • Interview required for middle school applicants

Students entering second grade and above must provide a recent nationally recognized standardized assessment such as:

  • Stanford
  • OLSAT
  • ITBS
  • ISEE
  • ERB

An additional test will be required for 2nd – 4th grade students who do not have one of the above test results.

    After your application is submitted, you will be able to print the completed application and required supplemental forms. You will also be able to track and monitor your progress online through the entire admissions process.

    Registration and Enrollment

    After receiving acceptance notification, parents will be provided information necessary to complete the enrollment process.

    GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS 

    The Branch School strives to graduate students who have grown as life-long learners and are ready to thrive and contribute as good citizens in their high school studies and future challenges. We want our graduates to think critically and enjoy seeking creative solutions to problems, as well as demonstrating strong character traits and a resilient work ethic in all their endeavors. They should strive to find their purpose in life to make a difference in the world, continue to form healthy relationships, and to find security in being self-reliant and giving. Our goal is for the whole child to become the whole man or woman.

    The following course credits (1 credit per year) are required for graduation:

    3 credits of math

    3 credits of science

    3 credits of language arts

    3 credits of social sciences

    3 credits of foreign language

    3 credits of electives

    The Head of School may waive certain requirements for students based on special circumstances.
