Students working on Robotics project

Engineering and Robotics

Students become engineers and use the engineering process to solve problems. Using the Engineering is Everywhere curriculum, students have created prosthetics for different model animals including dogs, eagles, and elephants. We also had a special visitor, Trooper, a dog with a prosthetic leg.

We are now working on a unit on engineering a process for making ice cream and creating a container to keep the ice cream cold.

In our Robotics unit, the students constructed LegoMind storm robots and programmed the robots to use limbs to retrieve objects. The students had fun with a free choice creative project and a sumobot competition.
