Main Building
Our carpool porte cochere is helpful for rainy days. Our campus security includes restricted access through these doors.
Our entryway provides security with the Lobby Guard system. Once admitted, you will be able to go through the extra security doors.
Melcher Hall, a multipurpose room, includes a stage for performances, room to run around on rainy days, and space for after-school activities.
You're invited to come experience our large, colorful classrooms which provide students plenty of space to learn and grow.
Elementary classrooms, equipped with Promethean Boards and one-to-one laptops, allow students to explore our STEAM curriculum.
Kindergarten students are welcomed daily into this bright and cheerful classroom that encourages students to develop a love of learning.
First Grade students are able to learn and explore in this large classroom that provides plenty of space for social distancing.
Third Grade students are able enjoy this serene classroom overlooking our beautiful backyard area and patio.
All of our classrooms are equipped with age-appropriate learning tools to keep students actively engaged with their studies.
Our preschool students have plenty of space to learn and play in their classroom, which includes a private bathroom and easy access to the large playground area.
Our Lower School library contains lots of fun and exciting books that students look forward to checking out during their weekly library time.
Playground
Our large playground with recently updated equipment provides students fun, daily outings as we all need breaks during the day.
As The Branch School bears, our playground would not be complete without this fun bear structure for climbing!
Swings are a definite favorite activity during recess. They are a fun way to relax and catch up with friends. No playground would be complete without swings!
Younger students are able to enjoy riding our many tricycles around the pathway around our playground - a fun way to develop those gross motor skills.
The large grassy area on our Lower School playground provides students plenty of space to run around, start a kickball game, or play flag football!
Sometimes you just need to have a little fun digging in sand! Here is a picture of one of two large sandboxes on our playground.
Our expansive outdoor playground includes a variety of fun activities for students. Come see this outdoor paradise!
Middle School Building
Our middle school students (5th-8th grade) enjoy having their own private building and space for their academic pursuits.
The covered awning provides middle school students easy entry and exit from the building during carpool on rainy days.
The Hightower Middle School building, which houses The Branch School's 5th-8th grade students, is housed on our gated school campus.
The middle school building is equipped with a fully functioning science lab, perfect for conducing all of those STEAM lab experiments!
Our middle school classrooms are equipped with Promethean Boards and student laptops, providing our students an excellent learning environment.
Our middle school classrooms provide the perfect environment for individualized attention and collaborative group work.
At The Branch School, our goal is to instill a love of learning and a love of all things STEAM related, including math in this classroom.
The middle school family-like atmosphere can be seen and experienced through the friendships developed and the students' love of coming to school.
A student presented the middle school teachers with this surprise gift of a Branch School Bear utilizing all the pencils from his middle school experience.
Middle School Fun
We know all students need breaks during the day, including middle school students. This outside space includes ways for students to connect and have fun.
Want to play a pick up game of volleyball? Middle School students are welcome to in our outside volleyball space.
Our basketball area is a definite favorite activity for our middle school students. They can often be seen playing a game together!
Harry Potter fans will be sure to recognize this fun game. Our Middle School students are able to enjoy games of Quidditch in their outside area!
Middle School students have access to a large field area, often marked as a soccer field, to run and play on during their recess.
Campus Atmosphere
As you drive up Sherwood Forest Street to our secure campus, look for our school sign and gate call box on the right. We hope you come see us soon!
Helen Hankins, our school founder, is honored with a sign on our circular drive. You can feel our love and respect of nature the moment you step on campus.
Our campus can feel like an oasis in the busy city. While here, you can find several peaceful spots to connect with nature and appreciate its beauty.
Our tree-lined campus showcases a love of nature with plenty of bird houses. Our students get to participate in a yearly Bird-a-thon.
The walking path surrounding our playground is a way to enjoy being outside amongst the many birds and critters that call our campus home.
The friendship bench on the left is an easy way to help students connect with friends to play with in our expansive playground.
We are abuzz with joy for our new observational beehive allowing students to easily and safely observe the bees' activities and see them work up close.
Outdoor Classroom
You can almost snack your way through our Outdoor Classroom! Here is the PK3/PK4 tank farm growing vegetables including sweet potatoes and tomatoes.
Our secure, gated pond provides students up close learning opportunities. It is full of gambusia that eat mosquitos. Thalia and water poppy grow in abundance.
What Outdoor Classroom would be complete without growing eggplant? Here our students can watch this delicious vegetable grow till harvest.
Here is a Dutchman's Pipe Vine which makes a beautiful home for Pipe Vine Swallowtail butterflies, providing students a wonderful learning opportunity.
Amaranth, a South American grain, is both fun to grow and adds beautiful color to our gardens. When you visit, you can see the beauty in person!
This Outdoor Classroom herb bed contains both basil and sage. Students enjoy getting to plant and harvest these herbs.
Here is another shot of all the basil growing in our Outdoor Classroom, which is conveniently located off of our playground and students can visit during recess.
Lemons are an exercise in patience, turning yellow and flavorful in November. The reward for the wait - delicious lemon squares!
Our certified Texas Wildscapes Schoolyard Habitat Demonstration Site has all four requirements for native creatures to be happy: food, water, shelter, and space.
